Meet Our Team

Melissa Groot, BHScPT, BPhEd(Hons) – Registered Physiotherapist

Melissa has practiced as a Registered Physiotherapist since 1998 when she graduated from McMaster University with a degree in Physiotherapy.  She had previously completed a degree in Physical Education at the University of Western Ontario in 1996.  Melissa has attended a number of Post-Graduate courses in Orthopaedics and Manual Therapy, Post-Concussion Rehab, Sports Injuries, Acupuncture, Soft Tissue Release, Pilates Rehabilitation Methods and Exercise Prescription.  She completed the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (Orthopaedic Division) Intermediate Certification in Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy in 2003 and is also certified in Pilates and Acupuncture.  Melissa has been a member of the Canadian and Ontario Physiotherapy Associations since 1998.
Prior to opening Black Creek Physiotherapy in 2011,  Melissa had worked at The Woodstock Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine Clinic for over ten years.  She has extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of sports injuries, motor vehicle accidents, work related injuries, pre and post-surgical conditions, and various other orthopaedic and neurological conditions.


Kari-Ann Hancharyk, RMT – Registered Massage Therapist

Kari-Ann is a Registered Massage Therapist who graduated from The Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in Cambridge. She has attained Certification with The College of Massage Therapists of Ontario.

Kari-Ann had previously completed a diploma as a Medical and General Lab Assistant in 2002. She had extensive experience in patient care as a mobile laboratory technician prior to becoming certified as an RMT.

Kari-Ann provides massage therapy for a variety of conditions including: arthritis, tendonitis, back pain, sciatica, headaches, repetitive strain injuries, sports injuries and many other conditions related to soft tissue and joint dysfunctions.


Jennifer Gulas-Krulicki, C. Ped (C) – Certified Pedorthist

 Jennifer completed a Diploma in Pedorthics and graduated with Distinction through Western University.  In 2007 she completed her National Certification and received her designation of C. Ped (C), Canadian Certified Pedorthist. Jennifer also holds a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology and Physical Education from Wilfrid Laurier University.

Jennifer serves on the Board of Directors as well as the Ethics and Continuing Education Committees for the College of Pedorthics of Canada.

Jennifer’s clinical approach is to provide and assist with the body’s “foundation” for optimal joint and muscle function while supporting soft tissue function.  Each pair of custom foot orthotics is specifically designed by Jennifer, and fabricated locally.

Other services provided by Jennifer in addition to custom foot orthotics include knee and ankle bracing, compression therapy and footwear modification.


Melissa Cronyn, PTA – Physiotherapist Assistant, Personal Trainer

Melissa_BlackCreekPhysioMelissa graduated as a Physiotherapist Assistant in 2016.  She previously graduated with a diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion from Conestoga College.  She is an OFC (Ontario Fitness Council) Gold member and in addition to working as part of our rehabilitation team at Black Creek Physiotherapy she also provides Personal Training in one-on-one sessions.

Melissa works with all fitness levels and has an ability to demonstrate different variations of exercises as required in the case of a pre-existing area of injury, she provides cueing for proper posture and technique with exercise and gives ongoing motivation throughout the session.  Melissa would be happy to help you achieve your health and fitness goals!



Madison Bell, PTA – Physiotherapist Assistant

Madison graduated from Georgian College in April 2018 from the Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist Assistant Program.

She assists clients in our clinic with the application of modalities as well as exercise demonstration and instruction as prescribed by our Physiotherapists. She enjoys assisting clients who are recovering from injuries to meet their functional goals!





Arielle Braby – Administrative Assistant

Arielle provides reception and administrative support and is a valuable asset to our clinic. She has a strong background in customer service and would be happy to assist you with booking an appointment with one of our therapists and answer any questions you may have about the rehabilitation process at our clinic. She is happy to be part of the team at Black Creek Physiotherapy!
